[Jack is startled into a smile. Kara treats him in a way he's not sure he's ever really experienced before, and he finds he's hungry for it, hungry for more of it. That Kara is more than willing to offer it is... a little overwhelming for him.]

( maybe, in some weird way, she understands it all more than she wants to admit. after all had anyone ever looked at her as anything other than a machine before she came here? perhaps alice and luther, of course and rose but there was still so much pain that came associated with everything.

almost as if she's silently waiting for the rug to be pulled out from under her and everything to go back to normal. she hates that piece of her, that fear that lingers inside her despite everything else that has happened... )

[Jack is nodding before he even really registers what Kara's said, but when his brain catches up he lets out a little bit of a laugh.]

( she doesn't bother to respond, far beyond words now as she scoots closer to him again and cups his face in her hands. there's a small, quiet moment where she tenderly caresses his face before she leans in again and captures his lips in another kiss.

much like the last one, it is chaste, slow but nevertheless eager as she pulls in close against him. )
